I just sold 4 of the 6 I had there were a couple that were kind of rough and 2 that were pretty nice, and I sold them for anywhere from $1800-$2500. there is a ton of info at www.steelsoldiers.com. Like.Rear crossmembers can be removed in the same fashion. From there you can shorten your frame to the length you want. Add a pair of deuce front springs with hangars to the frame and put it all back together. Lots of cutting, drilling and the such but can be done with minimal equipment except the heavy lifting equipment.Actually the fuel mileage isn't any worse than a 4x4 pulling a decent size camper or trailer. As far as a conventional semi being better, that depends. If you stay on Hwys and hide in truck stops, ok. But if you go even a little bit off road, huge difference. It's 6x6 or 4x6 depending on if the front is engaged, all air brakes, air wipers, high low gear range, 5 speed transmission, air system connections for accessories, etc. Just a fun toy to clean up, take into parades and shows.
